2026 CLUB ADVENTURES
GREAT ADVENTURES. GOOD COMPANY. UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES.
2026 has been another fantastic year of exploring, discovering and making memories with the Southern 4x4 Club!
From the sandy dunes of Peake and the muddy tracks of Ngarkat Conservation Park and Big Desert Wilderness Area to adventures through Millicent, Port Julia, Willangi Bush Escapes, Bendleby Ranges and Spear Creek, there's been no shortage of opportunities to get out and explore.
But it's not all about tackling the tracks! We've enjoyed a social day at Eagle View, a little wine tasting in the Barossa Valley and the excitement of the Adelaide 4WD & Adventure Show, bringing our members together both on and off the trails.
Every trip brings new experiences, plenty of laughs and memories worth sharing.
AND THE YEAR ISN'T OVER YET — THERE ARE STILL MORE ADVENTURES TO COME!
NGARKAT CONSERVATION PARK & BIG DESERT WILDERNESS AREA | OCT 2026
From rain-soaked tracks and deep muddy puddles to thick boggy trails and challenging sand dunes, Ngarkat Conservation Park and Big Desert Wilderness Area delivered a true 4x4 adventure!
With the wet conditions adding an extra challenge, members put their recovery skills and teamwork to good use, completing two vehicle recoveries along the way.
With plenty of mud, laughter, a little unexpected excitement and unforgettable moments, it was another fantastic trip exploring the great outdoors with the Southern 4x4 Club!
MUDDY TRACKS. TEAMWORK. GREAT ADVENTURES.

SPEAR CREEK | SEP 2026
Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Flinders Ranges, Spear Creek offered a fantastic escape into South Australia's rugged outback.
With scenic 4WD tracks, rocky terrain, breathtaking landscapes and plenty of good company, it was another memorable adventure for the Southern 4x4 Club.
Adding a little history to the journey, members visited the historic Jacka Brothers Brewery in Melrose, a place with a special connection to our club. Originally established in 1877 by ancestors of siblings Andrew Corbell, our Club President, and Vanessa Corwood, Committee Member, the brewery operated until the 1930s before closing its doors.
Today, new owners have breathed life back into this historic landmark, beautifully restoring the property and bringing great food, hospitality and a renewed appreciation for its heritage to the region.
From exploring the ranges and relaxing around camp to discovering a little family history, it's these shared experiences that make every trip special!
RUGGED RANGES. RICH HISTORY. GREAT COMPANY.

EAGLE VIEW 4WD TRACK | AUG 2026
Rolling green hills, lush landscapes and spectacular countryside made Eagle View 4WD Track the perfect setting for a Southern 4x4 Club social day trip!
With winding trails, challenging terrain and breathtaking views around every corner, it was a fantastic opportunity to get out, explore and enjoy the great outdoors together.
Of course, no adventure is complete without a little unexpected excitement! A burst tyre brought the convoy to a temporary halt, with members lending a hand to get it changed before continuing the journey.
A relaxed day of 4WD adventures, a little roadside teamwork, plenty of laughs and great company — proving you don't need to venture far or camp overnight to make wonderful memories!
GREAT VIEWS. GOOD MATES. A LITTLE ADVENTURE ALONG THE WAY!

PEAKE 4x4 SANDDUNES & CAMPING | JUL 2026
There's nothing quite like a day playing in the sand! The Southern 4x4 Club headed to Peake for an adventure filled with rolling dunes, sandy climbs and plenty of opportunities to put our four-wheel driving skills to the test.
Some of our up-and-coming junior members, now proudly sporting their P-plates, had the chance to test their grit on the dunes for the very first time, building confidence and putting their skills to the test. And when the four-wheel drives took a breather, a few members swapped four wheels for two, kicking things up a notch with some dirt bike action in the sand bowls!
From first-time challenges to a little two-wheeled fun, it was another fantastic adventure filled with encouragement, laughter and great company.
GOOD MATES. SANDY TYRES. ANOTHER GREAT ADVENTURE!

WINE TASTING | MAY 2026
Who says every Southern 4x4 Club adventure needs muddy tracks and challenging terrain?
Our annual Wine Tasting Social Day offered a change of pace, swapping rugged trails and dusty tyres for rolling vineyards, beautiful countryside and a taste of South Australia's most celebrated wine regions.
Our journey took us to Sussex Squire Wines, Rusden Wines, Tscharke and Penfolds, where members enjoyed exploring a wonderful selection of wines, sharing a few laughs and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of the Barossa Valley. It was a fantastic opportunity to step away from the tracks, catch up with fellow members and enjoy a different kind of adventure together.
After all, being part of the Southern 4x4 Club is about more than just four-wheel driving — it's about the friendships, shared experiences and memories we make along the way!
GOOD FRIENDS. GREAT WINES. CHEERS TO ANOTHER FANTASTIC DAY!

BENDLEBY RANGES | EASTER 2026
Our Easter adventure to Bendleby Ranges was a wonderfully intimate getaway, with just three vehicles making the journey, but certainly no shortage of members, laughter or excitement!
Arriving on Good Friday, we settled into camp and kicked off the long weekend with a big cook-up for dinner, enjoying good food and great company beneath the outback skies.
Saturday saw us head out to explore the rugged Bendleby Ranges, tackling rocky tracks and soaking up the spectacular scenery. Recent rainfall had transformed the usually dry landscape into a breathtaking sea of green, with lush vegetation carpeting the hills and valleys. It was a rare and beautiful sight, making the experience of exploring these magnificent ranges all the more special.
Back at camp, excitement was building among our junior members, who could barely contain themselves as they eagerly awaited a visit from a very special guest — the Easter Bunny!
Easter Sunday began bright and early, with our youngest adventurers waking alongside the birds and rising sun to discover the treats and surprises left behind overnight. After a rather indulgent chocolate breakfast, it was time to swap Easter eggs for rocky climbs as we headed into the Hungry Ranges.
This time, the ladies took the wheel, confidently tackling some seriously technical terrain, including the infamous Billy Goat Ridge!
And true to its name, Billy Goat Ridge certainly knew how to buck! One particularly challenging section gave a vehicle such a jolt that it bent a steel rim and knocked the tyre clean off its bead. What followed was a tricky and technical tyre change on steep, uneven ground, requiring careful planning, teamwork and plenty of determination. Working together, our members safely completed the repair and got the adventure back on track.
With Easter celebrations, challenging trails and plenty of unforgettable moments behind us, Monday saw everyone pack up camp and make the journey home.
From chocolate-covered smiles and family traditions to technical driving challenges, spectacular green landscapes and incredible teamwork, Bendleby Ranges delivered an Easter adventure we'll remember for years to come!
BIG CHALLENGES. LITTLE ADVENTURERS. EASTER MEMORIES

WILLANGI BUSH ESCAPES | MAR 2026
Sometimes the best adventures are found a little off the beaten track!
Our journey to Willangi Bush Escapes took us through the picturesque historic town of Burra before heading out to explore the property's winding trails, overgrown tracks and challenging terrain. Recent unprecedented rainfall had left its mark, with deep washouts adding an extra layer of excitement to the adventure. With the property owner's blessing, our members were also able to help reopen sections of the lesser-used tracks as we explored, giving the vehicles a little bushland brushing along the way!
Of course, no good 4WD adventure is complete without a little unexpected excitement! The challenging conditions called for two vehicle recoveries, putting our members' winching and snatch recovery skills to good use. A burst tyre added to the adventure, with an attempted repair eventually giving way to a complete tyre change.
On the journey home, we made a stop at the famous Magnetic Hill, where we experienced the curious illusion of travelling uphill and learnt how the surrounding landscape tricks our perception of gravity.
From challenging tracks and vehicle recoveries to roadside repairs, a little science and plenty of laughs, Willangi Bush Escapes delivered another memorable Southern 4x4 Club adventure!
A LITTLE BUSH-BASHING. A LOT OF FUN. MEMORIES WORTH SHARING.
