Becoming part of Southern 4x4 Club means joining a community of people who share your passion for four-wheel driving, camping and exploring.
Our membership structure is designed to welcome individuals and families, with membership generally covering one nominated four-wheel drive vehicle and its associated family group.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
Annual membership provides access to club activities, organised trips, social events and other membership benefits.
$70.00 PER YEAR
Membership generally includes the family group associated with one nominated four-wheel drive vehicle.
If your family wishes to participate in club activities using more than one vehicle, an additional membership is required for each additional vehicle.

VEHICLE & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
PREPARED FOR THE TRACKS. READY FOR ADVENTURE.
Safety is an important part of every Southern 4x4 Club adventure. To help ensure everyone can enjoy our trips safely and responsibly, participating vehicles and drivers must meet the following minimum requirements.
MINIMUM VEHICLE & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Low-range four-wheel drive – A vehicle equipped with low-range gearing.

All-terrain tyres – Suitable for off-road driving conditions.

UHF radio – For communication between vehicles during club trips.

Good ground clearance – Suitable for the terrain being travelled.

Roadworthy condition – Vehicles must be mechanically safe and roadworthy with current regeneration.

Insurance coverage – Appropriate vehicle insurance must be maintained.

Valid driver's licence – Drivers must hold a valid licence appropriate for the vehicle and comply with applicable licence conditions and Road Rules.

Rated recovery points – Fitted to both the front and rear of the vehicle.

Recovery gear – Appropriate recovery equipment for off-road travel.

First aid kit – Carried in the vehicle and readily accessible.
ADDITIONAL TRIP REQUIREMENTS
Some club trips may require additional equipment, vehicle preparation or driving experience depending on the destination, terrain and conditions.
Trip organisers will advise participants of any additional requirements before departure.

STEP 1 – COME AND MEET US
Join us at one of our open, visitors-welcome events! It's a great opportunity to meet our members, ask questions and discover what Southern 4x4 Club is all about.
STEP 2 – JOIN US ON AN ADVENTURE
Prospective members are invited to join us on three club trips before applying for membership.
These adventures give us the opportunity to get to know each other, share experiences and build friendships along the way. After all, Southern 4x4 Club is about more than four-wheel driving — it's about finding your crew, making great mates and enjoying the journey together!
STEP 3 – APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP
Once you've completed your introductory trips, you can submit a membership application for consideration by the club.
STEP 4 – BECOME PART OF THE CREW!
Membership applications are formally considered and voted on at a club meeting. Once approved and the applicable membership fees are paid, you're officially part of Southern 4x4 Club!
